George Fletcher - General Manager
His adventurous spirit made him leave the city of Lima in the 1970s in order to live true to his own style making Cusco and the Sacred Valley his home for many years. Shortly after, on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, George met John Tichner, who awakened his enthusiasm for rafting and together with Robert Randall and James Dirks, they were pioneers in exploring the Apurimac River. When George joined the team in the late 70s, Explorandes had small office in Cusco on Calle Procuradores and was just starting to grow. In those days very few people spoke English in Cusco, there were no specialized guides or regulations governing adventure tourism. With the support and experience of these foreigners Explorandes started to offer rafting programs on the Urubamba River, where we gained experience and training to later open other river routes. In 1989 George established Explorandes Ecuador with Malu Muñoz in Quito and, together with Terry Bryan they explored and opened new routes for river rafting and trekking. Now, at the head of Explorandes, George is leading the team to new adventures. He is easy going, open minded and keeps his door open to all his staff, with whom he gets along very well thanks to his great sense of humor.

Pastora Donoso - Incoming Tourism Manager Ecuador
Pastora began travelling around Ecuador early on as her father always took the family on different trips all over the country. This has helped her to get to know and love her homeland at a young age. Pastora graduated with a Bachelor of Administration in Tourism but began working as a guide by chance as she was very shy and terrified of speaking in public. After nearly three and a half years as a tour guide she had to start working closer to home because her family grew, officially joining the Explorandes team assisting in operations at our office in Ecuador in 1997 but she confesses that it was difficult to get used to the office after working in the outdoors for so long. Pastora left Explorandes for nearly a year and a half to work as a sales executive at jungle lodge before coming back as Incoming Tourism Manager in 2003. With 4 children she has little free time for any hobbies but enjoys being outdoors, hiking and traveling.

Marion Choulguine - Operations Assistant Ecuador
Marion has always dreamed of travelling and sharing great experiences with different cultures since she was very young. This French lady arrived in Ecuador in 2005, after having explored various parts of Europe due to her studies in tourism. She went to do an internship with Explorandes and enjoyed all her free time travelling around the country. It results that she is still here! This fascinating country allows her to discover a world so different than her own, full of human and fulfilling experiences. Motivated for living life as a challenge, she has decided to take the opportunity to promote Ecuador as an amazing destination.

Carlos Segovia - Field Assistant
Carlos studied tourism for two years and took a guiding course in the rainforest of Coca. He started working in the tourism industry in 1986 in logistics, and spent many years working in the rainforest and the mountains. Prior to joining the Explorandes team he was working in the Galapagos Islands as operations manager. He has been part of our team since 2004 working as field assistant, cook and driver for many of our groups. He is well regarded by our student groups coming in the months of June and July thanks to his patience and dedication.

José Luis Enríquez - Operations Assistant
José Luis is our newest acquisition. He just graduated and then came to join the Explorandes team to broaden his mind and learn more about the work of Tour Operators.
While doing his National Tourism Guide Studies, he already did internships as an eco-tourism guide, especially in the Ecuadorian Andes, and at several museums in Quito.
He is very attracted by adventures in nature, trekking and climbing. Always smiling and in a good mood he fits very well the Explorandes team.
